China Wind Power 2026 was held from October 14 to 16 at the China International Exhibition Center (Shunyi Venue) in Beijing. Under the theme “Advancing High-Quality Coordinated Development and Leading the Green and Low-Carbon Transition,” the exhibition brought together more than 1,000 companies from over 20 countries and regions. Invited to participate, Dongfang Measurement & Control Technology Co., Ltd. (DFMC) showcased its range of intelligent nondestructive inspection systems for wind turbine blades. The company presented intelligent, high-precision inspection solutions for blade quality inspection, defect identification, and operation and maintenance assessment, and explored opportunities for technological innovation and high-quality development with industry peers. DFMC General Manager Zhao Hongtao attended the event.

As China’s wind power industry rapidly expands and moves toward more advanced technologies, larger turbines and extra-long blades are becoming increasingly common. Blade internal structures are growing more intricate and complex, making it difficult for conventional inspection methods to meet the quality control and operation and maintenance requirements of new blade designs. Efficient, accurate detection of hidden internal defects has become essential to quality control during blade production and subsequent operation and maintenance.
To address the complex inspection conditions of large wind turbine blades and the industry’s varied application needs, DFMC has independently developed several series of intelligent nondestructive blade inspection systems, including semi-automatic, fully automatic, dual-source/dual-detector, and portable models. Integrating digital X-ray imaging, artificial intelligence, and intelligent control, these systems perform nondestructive inspection and image analysis of blade internal structures and adhesive bond quality. They help overcome the limitations of conventional ultrasonic testing in assessing bond quality in specific areas of large blades, such as UD webs and trailing edges. The systems accurately identify hidden defects, including porosity, inclusions, and missing adhesive, and display inspection images in real time, substantially improving inspection accuracy, coverage, and efficiency.

DFMC’s intelligent nondestructive wind turbine blade inspection systems have already been deployed in wind power manufacturing and operation and maintenance projects at Chongqing Chengfei, Hubei Tianshun, Da’an in Jilin Province, Pingxiang in Jiangxi Province, and other locations. By enabling early identification, warning, and investigation of internal blade defects, the systems support production quality control, defect inspection, repair assessment, and product quality traceability, helping ensure the safe, stable, and sustained operation of wind power equipment.
During the exhibition, executives and experts from State Power Investment Corporation (SPIC), Guohua Energy Investment, China Longyuan Power, Huadian New Energy, Sinoma Science & Technology, Windey, Chengfei New Materials, Goldwind, Envision Energy, Mingyang Smart Energy, and Aeolon visited the DFMC booth. They held in-depth discussions with the company’s technical team on blade inspection throughout the full life cycle, optimization of X-ray imaging technology, and adapting solutions to wind farm operation and maintenance requirements, laying a solid foundation for further technical discussions and project cooperation.
