Intelligent Transformation & Upgrade of Aging Equipment — DFMC Empowers Wuyang Mining's Unmanned Crane System Transformation

Recently, the renovation project of the Intelligent Unmanned Grab Loading & Shipping System implemented by DFMC for the Tieshan Mining Area of Wuyang Mining Co., Ltd. of Henan Anyang Iron and Steel Group has achieved phased results. One aged overhead traveling crane has been upgraded, renovated and put into operation, realizing automated loading and shipping operations. The project has effectively improved crane utilization, reduced labor intensity, strengthened production safety guarantees, and provided a replicable and scalable practical model for the intelligent renewal of aged mining equipment.

Wuyang Mining is a core proprietary iron ore raw material base of Anyang Iron and Steel Group and a key large-scale state-owned mining enterprise in Henan Province. For a long time, the iron powder shipping system of the Tieshan Mining Area has relied on manual operation. The two 16-ton cranes commissioned in 2016 have suffered from prominent equipment aging. Coupled with high dust levels and high labor intensity at the operation site, the traditional loading and shipping mode can no longer meet the requirements of safe, efficient and green production. Against the backdrop of China accelerating the unmanned and intelligent development of mines, Wuyang Mining has joined hands with DFMC to launch the intelligent unmanned crane loading and shipping system renovation project, promoting the digital and intelligent transformation of the loading and shipping process.

Technically, the project has built an integrated intelligent system featuring controlsensingscheduling coordination:

· At the control layer, programmable logic controllers (PLC), touch screens, frequency converters and variable frequency motors are integrated to ensure stable and efficient crane operation;

· At the sensing layer, infrared ranging, LiDAR 3D modeling, high-precision RFID positioning and 5G communication technologies are adopted to comprehensively enhance the equipment’s environmental awareness, data acquisition and information management capabilities;

· At the scheduling layer, DFMC has developed a customized dedicated scheduling system for the site, enabling remote command issuance, full-process visual monitoring, and supporting intelligent scheduling, path optimization, collaborative operation and safety obstacle avoidance for multiple cranes, multiple material bins and multiple loading/unloading points.

At present, the project has realized free switching between manned and unmanned modes for a single crane, and can automatically complete loading operations for trucks and trains. Through automatic and intelligent control, uncertainties caused by manual operation have been effectively reduced, and crane utilization and operational efficiency have been significantly improved.
