Recently, the 2026 National Ironmaking Production Technology Conference & Ironmaking Academic Annual Meeting, organized by the Chinese Society for Metals, was successfully held in Hefei, Anhui. DFMC was invited to attend and showcased its self-developed series of high-precision online detection and analysis instruments based on PGNAA element analysis technology. With core values such as "real-time element analysis, unmanned quality management, and digital-intelligent production control," it provided new solutions for the steel industry to address challenges like the difficulty in utilizing low-grade ores, significant quality fluctuations, and high reliance on manual labor. This became one of the key technological highlights of the conference.

The conference, themed "Technological Innovation Empowers Ironmaking, Low-Carbon Intelligence Leads the Future," brought together 522 experts and scholars from the Chinese Academy of Engineering, key research institutes, steel enterprises, and equipment manufacturers. They engaged in in-depth discussions on critical, common, hot, and challenging technical issues in the ironmaking industry over the past two years, as well as the development and practical application of new technologies, aiming to drive the industry's transformation and upgrading towards green, intelligent, and efficient practices.
To address the challenge of real-time, accurate detection of raw materials in the sintering process—characterized by "inaccurate adjustments and slow response"—DFMC has introduced a PGNAA sintering element analyzer. This solution helps enterprises transition from "post-production quality inspection" to "online real-time analysis." The equipment continuously outputs the content of key elements such as calcium, silicon, aluminum, iron, magnesium, potassium, sodium, sulfur, and chlorine. The data is highly representative and stable, enabling direct guidance for sintering ingredient blending and process adjustments. This significantly shortens adjustment cycles, reduces the risk of alkalinity fluctuations, and improves sintering quality consistency. Currently, the equipment is operating stably in enterprises such as Ansteel Group, Jiuquan Iron and Steel Group, Jingye Iron and Steel, and Binxin Iron and Steel, supporting them in achieving quality improvement, efficiency gains, cost reduction, and green transformation.

In the field of coal quality management, DFMC has developed a PGNAA high-precision coal quality analyzer. In the incoming coal inspection process, it can measure core indicators such as ash content, moisture, total sulfur, and calorific value in real time. Integrated with an automatic sampling system, it enables unattended operation. This product not only effectively eliminates errors caused by human intervention but also allows for dynamic monitoring of coke quality fed into the furnace. It provides continuous and reliable data support for combustion optimization and desulfurization control, helping enterprises improve energy utilization efficiency and environmental protection standards.

Beyond the steel industry, neutron activation element analysis technology also demonstrates broad applicability in fields such as cement and potash salts. In cement production, it enables online detection of limestone ore blending, raw meal, and clinker, supporting precise raw material proportioning and improving clinker stability and production line efficiency. In potash salt production, it can quickly obtain key ion content such as potassium, magnesium, sulfur, chlorine, and sodium without the need for sampling or complex sample preparation. This allows for continuous monitoring, analysis, and fine-tuning of the production process, significantly reducing time costs and enhancing recovery rates.
Focusing on the steel smelting production process, DFMC also showcased products such as microwave moisture meters, intelligent inspection robots, belt tear intelligent analyzers, unmanned cranes, and equipment predictive maintenance and health management systems. Through seamless integration and efficient collaboration among these products, they enable precise data analysis of production processes, real-time assessment of equipment status, and optimal allocation of resources. This creates a system solution that significantly enhances production efficiency and reduces safety risks. The application of these products and solutions in enterprises such as Shougang Group, Ma Steel Mining, Bayi Iron and Steel, Shagang Group, and Chongqing Iron and Steel has further solidified the foundation for efficient and safe production operations.
During the conference, leaders and experts from key industry enterprises such as Baowu Group, Sinosteel Group, Shougang Group, Shaanxi Iron and Steel Group, Shandong Iron and Steel Group, HBIS Group, and Vietnam’s Hoa Phat Dung Quat Steel Joint Stock Company engaged in in-depth discussions with DFMC’s technical team. The discussions focused on topics such as breakthroughs in key technologies, application scenario implementation, and industrial collaborative development. Multiple consensuses were reached on strengthening industry-university-research cooperation and advancing demonstration project construction, laying a solid foundation for further deepening cooperation and technology promotion.
