Recently, the 2025 World SMART MINES Conference was grandly held in Qingdao. DFMC showcased its high-precision rapid coal quality detection and analysis technology at the event, earning high praise from attending experts. Utilizing the neutron activation (PGNAA) analysis principle, this cutting-edge coal quality analyzer stands as the only product in the industry meeting the demand for high-accuracy ash content measurement in clean coal. Its dynamic ash measurement error maintains long-term stability within 0.15% while achieving rapid, precise detection of all coal elements. This effectively addresses the challenge of real-time, accurate online detection of coal quality indicators during coal separation processes, providing robust support for intelligent sorting, process optimization, and closed-loop quality control.
Organized by the China Coal Society, the event drew over a thousand scholars, experts, and industry leaders from more than 30 countries, including Australia, the United States, Russia, and Singapore. With the theme "Digital Transformation and Smart Development in Mining", the conference aimed to promote AI applications, establish global exchange platforms, and highlight the latest achievements in intelligent mining and safety management. Featuring three main forums and eleven specialized forums, it convened over a dozen academicians and numerous industry experts to explore cutting-edge technologies and development roadmaps for smart mining advancement.
At the Intelligent Mineral Processing & Safety Mining Forum, Wang Hao, Technology Director of Intelligent Energy at DFMC, delivered a keynote presentation titled "PGNAA-Based High-Precision Rapid Full-Element Coal Quality Detection: Cornerstone of Intelligent Coal Preparation." He emphasized that the core value of intelligent coal processing lies in achieving "cost reduction, quality enhancement, efficiency improvement, safety assurance, and environmental compliance," with accurate real-time coal quality monitoring being pivotal. DFMC's independently developed PGNAA-based analyzer remains the only industry solution meeting precise ash content detection requirements for clean coal, maintaining long-term dynamic measurement errors below 0.15%. The analyzer achieves full-element precision detection within nanoseconds—immune to coal type and particle size variations—resolving online quality monitoring challenges during separation processes. This capability delivers foundational support for intelligent separation, process optimization, and closed-loop quality control.
In recent years, DFMC has leveraged neutron activation online analysis technology to advance intelligent upgrades across the coal industry. The company’s solutions have been successfully deployed at Shanxi Coking Coal Group’s Huajin Coking Coal Shaqu Coal Preparation Plant, Huaibei Mining Group’s Guobei Coal Preparation Plant, Kailuan Group’s Fangezhuang and Qianjiaying Coal Preparation Plants, Shouwang Coal Industry’s Coal Preparation Plant, and Xinjiang Bayi Steel Coking Coal’s Coal Preparation Plant, delivering substantial economic benefits. Notably, DFMC’s Phase I Intelligent Dense-Medium Separation Project at Shaqu Coal Preparation Plant was certified by the China National Coal Association as achieving internationally leading standards, establishing a replicable model for industry-wide intelligent transformation.
During the event, experts from China Energy Group, Shandong Energy Group, Huaneng Mengdong Company, Beijing HUAJU, China Coal Research Institute, CCTEG Xi'an & Chongqing Research Institutes, Western Coal Mine Intelligentization Research Institute, China University of Mining and Technology, Northeastern University, France's Dassault Systèmes, Sweden's Sandvik Group, Oman Global Engineering & Technology College, UK Mineral Trade Association, St George's, University of London, Colorado School of Mines, and German-Mongolian Business Association exchanged insights with DFMC's technical team on frontier mining technologies. Experts praised DFMC's innovation capabilities and industry leadership, expressing intentions to deepen collaboration in R&D, talent exchange, and coordinated market expansion.
