Recently, the 2026 Annual Meeting and Academic Exchange Conference of the Professional Committees of the Coal Processing and Utilization Societies of Anhui, Shanxi and Hebei provinces was held in Huainan, Anhui Province. DFMC was invited to attend the conference and delivered a technical presentation on its high-precision neutron activation coal quality analyzer, attracting widespread attention from industry professionals.
The conference was jointly organized by the Coal Preparation and Comprehensive Utilization Professional Committee of the Anhui Coal Society, the Shanxi Coal Processing and Utilization Society, and the Hebei Coal Society. More than 260 representatives from mining groups, universities, research institutes and other organizations across China gathered to conduct in-depth discussions under the theme of “Intelligent, Green and High-Quality Development of the Coal Preparation Industry.”
At the conference, Cong Haojie, Technical Director of Intelligent Instruments at DFMC, delivered a presentation entitled “High-Precision Neutron Activation Coal Quality Analyzer Empowering the Intelligent Transformation and Upgrading of the Coal Industry.” He provided a detailed introduction to DFMC’s high-precision neutron activation coal quality analyzer, which was developed using Prompt Gamma Neutron Activation Analysis (PGNAA) technology. The analyzer can accurately measure key coal quality parameters in real time, including ash, moisture, sulfur, calorific value and ash composition.
Cong stated that, as a core testing instrument for intelligent coal preparation plants, the high-precision neutron activation coal quality analyzer provides essential data support for the intelligent optimization and control of coal washing and preparation processes. It helps improve clean coal recovery, ensure consistent product coal quality, and advance coal preparation from experience-based operation to a new stage of data-driven intelligent control.
The analyzer has maintained long-term ash measurement accuracy within 0.25% and has been successfully applied at multiple project sites, including Kailuan Group, Shanxi Coking Coal Group, Xinjiang Coking Coal Group and Shouwang Coal Industry, delivering significant results. At the Shouwang Coal Preparation Plant, following the commissioning of the project, the ash content of the clean coal discharge increased by 1.3%, the clean coal recovery rate rose by 1.5 percentage points, and overall production capacity increased by 18%. The application effectively addressed the industry-wide challenge of accurately measuring ash content during dense-medium coal preparation.
During the conference, executives from Shanxi Coking Coal Group, Lu’an Chemical Group, Wanbei Coal-Electricity Group, Huaibei Mining Group, Jizhong Energy Group, Huaihe Energy Group and Kailuan Group visited the DFMC booth for discussions. The parties conducted in-depth exchanges on key topics such as the intelligent transformation and upgrading of the coal industry, laying a solid foundation for further practical cooperation.
Through its technical presentation and exchanges at the conference, DFMC further strengthened industry–academia–research collaboration with its industry partners, contributing technological expertise to the high-quality development of China’s coal preparation industry and the safeguarding of national energy security.
